PUPIL PREMIUM GRANT 2024 / 2025 Strategy
The Pupil Premium Grant (P.P.G.) is for pupils registered as eligible for Free School Meals in Reception to Year 6 in Primary Schools.
Pupil Premium is additional funding and it is used by St. Ann’s to support children and help them reach their full potential.
St. Ann’s offer extra help for children in a number of different areas in school. We fund members of staff and after school activities together with extra curriculum support.

The number of children eligible for Pupil Premium at St Ann’s is currently 88. Each child entitled to the pupil premium funding has access to a range of opportunities in school to support both academic and social development. Please see below for more information.

The school continues to strengthen the relationship between home and school. The Pastoral support lead attends social care meetings and is part of the Safeguarding team. The children have a trusted adult who they turn to in times of need. |

Identification of needs of vulnerable pupils, creating strategies that meet their needs. Supporting children through small group teaching. Requesting outside support to improve children’s mental health and access to the curriculum. |
Children displaying difficulties either academically or socially, were monitored and supported. Referrals were made to outside agencies so that the school was better able to support these children. Through the work of our SENDCO, 3 children were given places in alternative provision that better suited their needs. |
Teaching Assistant Salary |

To support disadvantaged children in class, identify needs, work with the class teacher. Teaching Assistants have a high impact on children’s learning and progress. |
Trained teaching assistants provided additional targeted support to a number of children. Children benefitted from additional support, 1:1, small groups, and benefitted from it. |
Sports Coach additional |

Provide extra curricular activities which involve vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils. Improving their involvement in sport and improving their health and fitness. |
High Quality PE was delivered across the school with additional small group and 1:1 sessions being provided to those who needed it. |
Sports Club Fees |

Removal of fees for extra curricular clubs giving vulnerable children free access to all clubs throughout the school year. |
The school removed financial barriers for some families so that children who maybe struggling financially, have the same opportunities and others. |
French & Spanish lessons |

Specialist language teacher delivering high quality French lessons to the less able children. Free access to all. Specialist Teaching Assistant delivering high quality Spanish lessons to the more and less abled children. Free access to all. |

EWO / Ed Psych, Behaviour Support, Speech and Language Interventions |

Support for vulnerable children to access one to one sessions. All vulnerable children with behaviour problems receive one-to-one support who have difficulty accessing the curriculum because of speech and language barriers receive group sessions. |
Close working relationship with outside agencies allowed children to have the right support in place whether at our school or at an alternative provision. Staff skills were enhanced through the support and training offered by these agencies. |
