Dear Parents,

I am delighted to be able to welcome back our home learners on Monday 8th March.  It will be wonderful to have the whole school together again.

In order to do so safely I would just like to remind parents about the safety measures we will put in place.

To alleviate congestion on the roads we would like to invite parents into the school grounds when dropping off and picking up their child. In order to reduce the number of parents and carers at any one time, we wish to continue with only one parent/carer from each family entering the site.

So that parents with more than one child can lessen their time during pick up and drop off, we have changed our start and finish times. Instead of the times being set according to year groups we have set according to the surname of your child.

The table below shows the start and finish times.

Children with surnames beginning with:

Start time

Finish Time

A – G

H – O

P – Z

Entrance and Exit points

Parents are required to enter the school through the correct gate for their youngest child. In doing this, they will be able to follow a one-way system in order to drop off all children within their family. A separate gate will be used when exiting the school. Staff will be on hand to guide you.

Nursery children will continue to follow the procedures given using their gate for drop off and pick up.

Please use the following gates:

Reception, Year 1 & 2

Main entrance on Derbyshire Lane

Year 3, 4, 5 & 6

Entrance on Delamere Avenue

*Once again, Nursery children will use their own Nursery gate for entering and exiting the school.

In order to further reduce the risk of spreading Covid 19, we are again asking parents to wear masks when entering the school grounds.

Children are allowed to continue wearing trainers to school along with their school uniform.  As we are required, for safety reasons, to keep classrooms well ventilated we suggest the children wear a fleece to school.

Please ensure you have pre-ordered your child’s school meal on School Grid before Monday morning.  We find the system is very slow, and sometimes crashes on a Monday due to lots of parents from different schools ordering at the same time.

Breakfast and After School Club

Please note, if you applied for your child to receive a Breakfast or After School Club place for January, that place is still reserved.

LFD Tests

You may be aware that you are able to pick up LFD tests to use on your child.  To do this, please visit www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

This is entirely your decision, it is not compulsory, all we ask is that if you choose to test your child, you inform school of any positive results in your home.

For our first week back, we have planned some lovely activities focussed on mental health & wellbeing and team / relationship building.  The children will enjoy being creative and working together.

Thank you for your continued support.
