Dear Parents/ Carers,
Thursday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing in children and young people, we are taking part in Young Minds’ Hello Yellow campaign. Young Minds is a UK based charity who provide mental health and wellbeing support for all children and young people. Young Minds report that, on average, three children in every UK classroom are struggling with their own mental health and wellbeing. The charity aims to put children at the heart of tackling these issues.
In support of Hello Yellow, we would like to invite the children to wear something yellow with their usual school trousers or skirts on Thursday 10th October, in exchange for a small donation. The children could wear either a yellow t-shirt or jumper if they have one. Alternatively, they could wear a yellow accessory to show their support for this campaign.
The money raised on Thursday 10th October will be greatly received by Young Minds and will be used to continue their much needed work.
On the day, children will take part in a range of activities in their classes to promote healthy minds and wellbeing. We are sure that the children will enjoy the activities and will gain lots from taking part in them.
If you wish to find out more about this charity and the work they do, please visit https://youngminds.org.uk/. If you have any concerns about your child’s mental health and wellbeing, please discuss this with their class teacher.
We thank you, in advance, for supporting this important cause.
