St Ann's School Library
When we worked with the architects to design our new school, the library was the centre of our plans. It is one of the most popular rooms in our new school and houses a wealth of fiction and non-fiction texts. We strive to provide children with the opportunity to read books that they might never have seen before, alongside firm favourites that can be found in every home.
Alongside the books, the children can access a range of popular story characters, knitted and crocheted with love by our wider St Ann's family. As if by magic, characters appear overnight. Amongst them include the very hungry caterpillar, the Gruffallo (purple prickles and all!), Hedwig and even William Shakespeare himself!
The library is accessed each week by the children and, as much as possible, we like our Year 5 and 6 reading ambassadors to take the lead with managing its running day to day. Our biannual book fair largely funds our library, alongside the very generous donations of our St Ann's families and staff.
